The cover of “The Earth Is All That Lasts” marks the third time Mueller has created album artwork for his friend Willem Maker. After the 2011 “AGAPAO”, “TEIATL” strikes a darker, more fundamental chord; its stark visuals reflect the somber nature of the music. The result is a finely crafted blend of inspirations — Maker’a lyrics; the Mexican Día de Muertos, and elements of Aztec art; and Mueller’s personal vision; all come together as a singular bold statement.
